VICTORIA SHINES AS SCHOOL FEMALE TEAM DEFEATS NUASA FEMALE TEAM IN STYLE

On Friday, 6th May, there was a football match between the NUASA Girls Team and the School Girls team on the football pitch. This match was a part of the programmes which was lined up by NUASA for its week which ends on Saturday. Kicking off by 5:35 pm, the match was refereed by Brown (400L). The school team comprised of Mercy, Favour (100L), Shope, Folakemi, Rachael, Ayo, Victoria (100L), Wunmi (200L), Desola, Bimbo, Rachael (200L), Nancy, Bose and Fisayo. The NUASA team comprised of players like Ruth Dambo, Tolu, Jumoke, Tirnom, Bukky, Victoria (400L), Kemi Kukoyi, Semilore, Jessica, Fihin, Bunmi, Doyin, Habibat and Tolu (300L). Hakeem (400L) was the coach of the NUASA team, while UBONG and COOL JOE were the managers of the School Team.

From the onset till half time, the match was bubbling and full of excitement. Both teams showed determination to score and outplay the other. You know, that feeling you get when you watch girls play football, The Tingling! The thrilz! The Frilz! The movements! The packages! The Body Language! C’mon, you definitely have no choice than to love it when girls play football.

A match which was full of excitement definitely would have its ups and downs! Despite the first goal being scored in the 50th minute by Victoria for the school team, the match still didn’t fall short if its excitement. This time around, the excitement was in form of a fight which occurred between Wunmi (SCHOOL TEAM) and Habibat (NUASA Team). The reason for the fight, I don’t know? All I know is that, I saw slaps being freely shared between both girls and their teammates separating them! Well……its football and anything is bound to happen.

The three goals which were scored by the school team goals came in the 50th minute, 60th minute and 80th minute by Victoria and Bimbo. Victoria scored a brace while Bimbo’s goal came in between both goals.

The match ended with the school team winning by 3 goals to nil, defeating NUASA in a very exciting game.
Players who performed very well in the match were Ruth Dambo, Kemi kukoyi, Bukola, Victoria and Semilore for NUASA girls while for the school team, the girls who performed very well were Victoria, Desola, Rachael, Wunmi and Bimbo.

A great shout-out to the girls for turning up at the game, it was nice seeing you all play the beautiful game of football. Hopefully, next session, we should be having a Girls Football Competition!
