NESA LOSES TO NACOSS……. CRASHES OUT OF COMPETITION

It was all NACOSS and little NESA during the first match of week 2 of the ongoing football competition as NESA lost to NACOSS in a sad way and thus, becoming the first team to pcrash out of the ongoing competition. The game was a close one between both teams as NESA sought to earn their first three points after losing its first match to NABAMS, while NACOSS went into the game determined to earn three maximum points.

The game started by 5 pm with Mr. Seun as the Regular referee and Cool Joe with Precious were the linesmen for the game. Moh (300L) was the captain for NESA while Osas was the captain for NACOSS. Osas (400L) scored the first goal of the match from the penalty spot after a foul was made on a NACOSS player. Jide equalized for NESA from an unexpected shot which was directed at the NACOSS keeper. The NACOSS goalie was however slow to respond and the ball rolled home. At half time, it was still a goal apiece.

Second half resumed with more action from both sides. There was beautiful attacking and counterattacking football; nice defense work by both teams, well timed tackles and Cool dribbles. This was the style of the match until the game progressed into the 60th minute when Aboh Joe scored for NACOSS from a defensive error by the NESA defenders. This goal no doubt, broke the ice for NESA! Play resumed and the Crawford-style of Chinese Football began!

High boots, dangerous tackles, ruthless kicking and heightened challenges became the norm of the game for over 20 minutes. Yellow cards were brandished to over 5 players from both sides and 2 Red cards were shown to two players from both sides. In fact, Kola (the assistant captain) from NACOSS almost beat up a player from NESA over a needless rough tackle which almost got the NACOSS player injured.

Nevertheless, the match ended after a whole lot of needless confrontations from both teams amongst themselves. NACOSS won by 2 goals to 1 and technically speaking, NESA is out with two losses out of two games with 1 game remaining for the group stage qualifications.

The Flop of the match was Shoky (200L) NESA while the Man of The match was unarguably Peter (100L) NACOSS.
