CRAWFORD STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL HOLDS DINNER AND AWARDS NIGHT


Friday 4th of December was a day to remember amongst the students of Crawford University; as the much awaited and publicized dinner and awards night was held in the school. The Dinner and awards Night popularly known within the campus as CSDAN 2015 was organized by the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the School. The SRC is the officially recognized school council that comprised of all Departmental Presidents and some appointed senior students of the school. They are the primary student-body representative within the school.

Held in the school’s multi-purpose Hall, the event was sponsored by Saint Calypso, a cloth-printing firm; the Students Representative Council (SRC) and it was supported by The Crawford University Press Club (CSPC); Olafimihan Photography (a student-owned photography Unit) and The University’s Catering Department.
Emceed by MC BUCKET; the event started by 6 pm with most of the students present in the hall. Notable amongst the Invited Guests were The Vice Chancellor of the institution; Prof. Rotimi Ajayi; the Head, Catering Department, Mrs. Bola Okunlaja; The Institution Principal Accountant and Head of Crawford Ventures, Mr. Emeka Nnamdi; The Secretary-General of All African Students Union, Mr. Fred Awah and several other staff and officials of the school. MC Bucket got the audience laughing out really hard with his sarcastic jokes and comical remarks.

Musical performances by student-artistes like MRK, Sansan-T, Vicky and Idris wowed the audiences while some of the invited musical artistes failed to impress the audience with their performances but nevertheless, the night was filled with spectacular music performances and comic performances by the MC.
The categories of awards presented were over 20 and they were all presented to the respective recipients on the night. Notable amongst these awards were:

MOST SOCIABLE MALE: JEGEDE SAMUEL
MOST SOCIABLE FEMALE: TOBI
BEST DRESSED MALE: ADEKOYE TOSIN
BEST DRESSED FEMALE: TOMISIN
MOST INFLUENTIAL: JOEL
MOST EXPENSIVE STUDENT: OLAMIDE
PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR: GBAJA JOSEPH
MOST ELOQUENT STUDENT OF THE YEAR: OMOPE TEMITAYO “BROWN”
PRESIDENT OF THE YEAR: FEMI OLAPADE
MALE FACE OF CRAWFORD UNIVERSITY: CHARLES
FEMALE FACE OF CRAWFORD UNIVERSITY: BUKOLA

The Vice Chancellor in his welcome speech applauded the students and the audience for turning up to the event and he specially commended the Students Representative Council for a job well done in organizing and hosting the Dinner and Awards Night. The awards, He observed was the first of his kind that he personally witnessed and participated since his assumption at the helm of leadership of the university.
There were certain awards of recognition given to some personalities during the event. These personalities were The Secretary General of All African Students Union, Mr. Fred Awah; the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rotimi Ajayi and Saint Calypso, a major support of the event.
