Unemployed Graduate Commits Suicide over Failure to Secure a Job

A polytechnic graduate (names withheld) has committed suicide by jumping into a lake located at Aba Apata, Adegbayi, Oyo State over his inability to get a job after graduation.

Eyewitnesses said that the corpse of the deceased was still floating on the water but was identified from his certificates which he dropped at the bank of the river before taking his own life.
A fisherman in the area, Taofeek Dauda, narrated that: “His parents were here, and I told them to pay N30,000 so I can bring out the corpse with my canoe. I also told them that the money covers the materials we are going to use to perform some rituals before he could be buried, because it is very important to do such for whoever dies in this kind of circumstance.”
This is the highlight of the sorry state of Nigeria presently as security, unemployment and corruption continues to ravage the country.
