7 Years In Jail23-Yr-Old Student Raids His Provost's Office, Steals N381,000
A second year student of the College of Health and Technology, Yaba, Micah William, has been arraigned for allegedly burgling the office of the institution.
23-year-old William is being tried on a two-count charge of burglary and stealing, offences which contravened Sections 285 and 305 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
He now risks a seven-year jail term if found guilty.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu, the accused committed the crime on October with his accomplices, still at large, and stole items worth N381,000.
“The equipment stolen include four projectors, two HP laptops, one Compaq laptop, two HP printers and two Blackberry phones valued at N381,000," Anyanwu told the court.
Students Pulse gathered that Williams was exposed by some students who witnessed the crime and the prints of his slippers found on the scene.
Anyanwu said the suspect could not explain how his slippers prints got there.
William pleaded non-guilty to the charges.
The chief magistrate, Mrs Yewande Aje-Afunwa, granted the accused bail and adjourned the case to the 21st of November.
Just wonna use this as an opportunity to warn certain cru students(you know urselves) that perform MERCILESS STEALING ACTS....every day for the thief but ONE DAY for the owner of the house.
