Ogun state government has debunked the allegation that the pronouncement of reduction in the tertiary institution fees in the state was a fluke, noting that, the reduction remains. There has been rumour making rounds by students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Ojere, Abeokuta that the state government has implemented the reduction since it made the announcement. It would be recalled that the state government had in September 2014 announced the reduction of school fees for all tertiary institutions across the state, hinting that, education should be given utmost priority in the state. But earlier this week, some students of MAPOLY took to the social media and castigated the state government for playing on their intelligence. Magistrate Adekunte of the Magistrate court 3, Isabo, Abeokuta this morning ordered that five students from the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Ojere, Abeokuta suspected to be cultists be remanded in prison custody. The five suspects are; Olawale Olaniyi, Azeez Adeyemi, Bidemi Olufalo, Handed Osilaja and Sodiq Bashorun. They were accused of belonging to a secret cult group, known as Black Axe. According to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ozimini, the accused were arrested on 5 August 2014 at the school premises during one of their group meetings. “That the accused were on 5 August 2014 at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State in Abeokuta Magisterial District to have belongs to a group called “Black Axe”, a secret cult society, contrary to Section 3 and punishable under Section 5 of the secret cult (prohibition and Special Provision) Laws of Ogun State 2006,” the charge sheet reads.  I can still remember vividly my fresher's days when I had to go about the campus with my files and asking people for information. i can say it was embarrassing but was also fun and it is always easy to know a fresher in the campus. With the look of things, crawford university is advancing a little bit with a very slow pace in terms of infrastructures, roads, hostel management and recruitment of enough qualified lecturers, but students seems to be more concerned about what CRU is doing wrong.    A student said "they prefer spending more money on flowers than repairing the school's football pitch and the basketball court" is that true ? A thirty-one-year old first class graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria,Moses Murtala Aminu, has been shot dead by a trigger-happy policeman identified asAlex Okpe, in Kaduna. We gathered from a Vanguardreport quoting eyewitnesses that the late Aminu met his untimely death on Sunday while challenging a police constable who was beating up his girlfriend at a party venue in Barnawa area of the state. As a result of what happen yesterday , The FA has decided that both teams should play ten minutes today o complete the unfinished match but the 200L team said "NO" they withdrew with the other 200L team from the league.    The FA has decided to share there points to the remaining 4 Teams {100l, 400(CRU PILLAR), 400L(WINNERS FC), 300L} equally and continue the league.    The winners FC won 1-0 against the 100L team this evening, the goal came from the right winger after the keeper pushed out a shot and the goal scorer rebounded the ball into the left corner of the net.    The Table (standing) will be uploaded soon. please like our facebook page here

Today's match {Crawford pillar (majorly 400L) Vs Vendetter (majorly 200L)} was very very physical, while vendetter was winning with a goal in first half, crawford pillar came back with a penalty in the second half and equalized, when the match tempo was getting tenser, a vendetter's defender scored a wonderful 30-yards freekick and it was a celebration galour for the winning team but another story it is for the opponent which got 2 players a red card (1 player each form both teams for a fight on the pitch). surprisingly, the losing side suddenly put up a fight that later grew bigger and most fans joined in scattering the match.   In a nutshell; the match result is yet to be decided buh the FA is working on how to bring peace in between both teams involved and a fair blow in the upcoming matches.

Fresh crisis is currently brewing at the Lagos State University, LASU, with the Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof. John Obafunwa withdrawing the Ph.D certificates of 14 lecturers opposed to his administration in the troubled institution. The lecturers have also passed a vote of no confidence on the VC, calling for his removal from office for the school to move forward. Speaking after the meeting of the Lagos Zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, held at the Ojo Campus of LASU on Wednesday, the lecturers alleged that the authorities of LASU are calling for the withdrawal of the certificates of 14 lecturers with Ph.D bagged in the school and duly signed by the VC. According to Dr. Sola Nasir, Coordinator of ASUU, Lagos Zone, the school management decided to withdraw the Ph.D certificates of the lecturers for calling for the reversal of students fees to the old rate of N25,000. A student of  Bells University of Technology , Ota,  Nekpen Ruth Idahosa , has died from injuries sustained during an asthma attack. Idahosa, a 300-level student reportedly suffered an asthma attack last night while eating. Reports quoting the deceased's friends say she choked and fell, hitting her head on the floor in the process. We  gathered that Idahosa began to bleed from a head injury following the fall. It is being alleged that her chances of survival were hampered by the failure of the institution's medical team to respond when alerted. The students reportedly carried the bleeding student to the clinic using a hairdresser's vehicle as makeshift ambulance. Even then, they could not save her life. Negligence? Esegine Allen, better known by his stage name Alhaji Orezi, is a Nigerian musician from Delta State. He rose to prominence with his song "Rihanna" in 2013. On Thursday, November 13, 2014 Orezi was kicked out of the Redeemers University's premises by the school management, much to the disapproval of several students who started protesting ethe decision.
