FINAL YEAR STUDENTS SIGN OUT …HOLD THANKSGIVING SERVICE IN SCHOOL
It was a memorable and beautiful sight to behold when the final year students of Crawford University, Igbesa, Ogun state gathered in the University Chapel last Sunday to hold their “final” Sunday service in the university. This is a usual trend in the school for final year students- to hold a memorable church service on the last Sunday on the second semester. As expected, a whole lot of them trooped out stylishly to celebrate and also to get well wishes from their fellow students.
The final Sunday service is usually the end of a week which is full of activities specifically for the final year students. the final year students held during the week, several activities like a job seminar which had the CEO/MD of reputable consultancy firms as guest speakers; a customary signing-out day where students signed on their white shirts and an Awards night.
This set of final year students traditionally tagged “UNICORN 08”, is the 8th set of graduates that the school would be producing after its establishment in 2005. The graduating class of 2016 (as they are called) would be having their graduation later this year in December, as announced by the Vice Chancellor on Sunday during the thanksgiving service. The Vice Chancellor in his speech, congratulated them all for their achievement as final year students, praised them for enduring the turbulent life of being students and also advised them to continue to be great and worthy ambassadors of the university.
The students rendered special songs in the chapel and also presented an award to the University Chaplaincy. After this, there was a prayer session for the students led by the District Superintendent of the Apostolic Faith Church, Reverend Peter Awomoyi, who was also present in the thanksgiving service alongside the Chaplain of the University Chapel, Reverend Solomon Makinde.
