Crawford University has emerged the winner of the African Regional Inter-University Debate of the UNESCO Institute for African Culture and International Understanding. Students from selected public and private Universities in nineteen (19) countries participated in the event which was held for a whole at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
At the finals, held on Monday March 3, 2014, Crawford University’s representative, Omope Samuel, 400 level Accounting Student with a logical presentation, carefully analysed the topic:-”African Conflicts should be resolved themselves and not by third parties“.
With superior demonstration of powerful oratorial skill, defeated his co-debaters from Liberia, Benin Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Gabon, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Nasarawa State University, Osun State University, Kwara State University, Rivers State University, Bells University and Igbinedion University.
